How we choose our programme
We accept suggestions from members of our orchestra, the audience, the wider community and from our Friends, Patrons and Benefactors via concerts or the repertoire suggestions page of the website.
We then evaluate these suggestions in regards to instrumentation, difficulty and any other technical challenges that may arise. We will then add any pieces that soloists have requested we play.
We will also add pieces that fulfil a particular aim of the orchestra, whether it be a collaboration or educational project or for a particular event. We will have to take into account the length of each piece and the availability and the cost of acquiring the printed music.
Each concert programme must fit together in an interesting or exciting way either with the use of lesser known composers or the inclusion of music from a different genre/ethnicity than usually heard.
We then post the next programme content on our future concerts page.
